Roger David Michaud has lived in Lake Park for 34 years and is deeply rooted in the community. He and his wife, Charity Darling-Michaud, are raising their children, Jordyn and Trenten, in the same home where Roger grew up — with his mother still living next door. A graduate of local schools, including Lake Park Elementary and Palm Beach State College, Roger is a true hometown product.

Roger has worked for the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser for more than twenty years. When he’s not serving the community, he is a devoted husband and father who loves family time, the outdoors, music, dogs, and sports.

For decades, he has served Lake Park through the Kiwanis Club, Library Advisory Board, Planning & Zoning Board, and several regional advisory committees. First elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2019 and 2022 with the highest vote totals, Roger has played a key role in advancing redevelopment, improving public safety technology, expanding green stormwater solutions, and supporting the future enhancement of the Lake Park Marina. In the Town’s centennial year, he made history as the first minority and Haitian-American elected Mayor.

As mayor, Roger has focused on supporting local families, improving public safety, strengthening neighborhoods, and protecting the character that makes Lake Park unique. His story is simple: a committed resident, a volunteer to his community, and one who became a committed leader, working every day to guide Lake Park toward a brighter future.
